In a very exciting development in our partnership with Ncemaneni, we have started a staff exchange programme. This exchange will not only develop our relationship with Ncemaneni but will also benefit the staff and pupils at both schools through the exchange of ideas, personal development and cultures.
Month: March 2018
Pupils in Year 6 have been learning to count up to 100 in Spanish and have enjoyed a game of Bingo in their Spanish lesson! Our students often come to their language lessons having learnt extra words and sentences in French & Spanish. Très impressionant! Bravo!
Children from Kindergarten 2 had a lovely time learning about all the animals at Little Owl Farm Park on Thursday 22nd March. They had the opportunity to hold chicks and rabbits and bottle feed piglets and lambs.
To consolidate their Classical Studies, Year 8 spent a fabulous day in Bath on Tuesday 20th March visiting the Roman Baths – the best preserved Roman ruins anywhere in Britain.
Year One have spent the day studying the difference between a city and a village by visiting Worcester and Chaddesley Corbett.
During the day, they have looked at how Worcester has changed over time, why there was a wall around the city and why the roads have names such as ‘The Shambles’.
Our Pre-Prep children have been busy with craft activities in preparation for Easter. KG2 have made Easter chicks whilst KG1 have made Easter cards and hats. Reception children have planted and decorated their minion Cress Heads and are looking forward to seeing their hair grow!
On Friday 16th March, Year 3 stepped back in time when they visited The National Roman Legion Museum in Caerleon, Wales and had a very interesting day investigating the Roman way of life.
Our amazing String Group gave an excellent performance at Parents’ Coffee morning. Bach’s Musette in D Major, Chanson Triste – Tchaikovsky and the Trout Quintet – Schubert gave our guests a wonderful start to the day.
The Jazz Soirée on Thursday 15th March showcased some of the School’s music groups playing live to a packed Penryn Hall. Pulp Function played a barnstorming set of chart hits. The whole of Penryn was up dancing to the likes of S Club 7 and Uptown Funk and a great night was had by all.
The highlight of the week for Reception and Kindergarten 1 children was their trip to Bishop’s Wood in Stourport-on-Severn on Wednesday 14th March, where they were introduced to pond dipping and went on a mini-beast hunt.
