Admissions Process

How does the admissions process work?

Children can be accepted at any age, provided we have a place available. The first stage is to make an appointment to come and visit us at Winterfold. If you like what you see, you will need to arrange a mutually convenient time for your child to come to school for a day. This will give him/her a real taste of life at Winterfold and helps to confirm in your minds that you have made the right choice.

What are the entry requirements?

There are no formal entry requirements or tests. Winterfold is a non-selective school and we believe that we have a duty to educate any child who wishes to come to us, provided that we feel that they will benefit from their time here.

What happens next?

Assuming that everything goes well (it usually does!) we will offer your child a place and ask you to fill in a Registration Form if you have not already done so. There is a Registration Fee of £100.

Before your child is due to join us, we will send you a joining pack containing the Parent’s Handbook and a copy of our Parent Contract (Terms and Conditions). You will also receive an Acceptance Form which we ask you to return, in order to confirm your child’s place at Winterfold. At this stage we ask for a refundable deposit of £500 which will be credited against your final invoice.

If there is sufficient time, we usually invite your child to come and spend another day in school so that they can get to know everyone and start to make friends. We will also keep you informed of school events and you will be most welcome to come and join us.
