Wellbeing & Pastoral Care

At Winterfold, we believe every child deserves a happy, secure, and nurturing environment in which to learn and flourish. Our close-knit community is built on care, kindness, and support, ensuring every pupil feels valued and heard.

Wellbeing

Your child’s Form Tutor plays a key role, building a strong, trusting relationship through daily contact and gentle guidance. They are your first point of contact, working closely with you to support your child’s wellbeing and progress, and ensuring any concerns are handled with care and attention.

We also encourage our pupils to have a real voice in school life through Pupil Voice groups. Prep pupils can take part in committees such as the Eco Committee, School Council, Spiritual Leaders, Librarians, and Charity Committee, giving them the chance to contribute to important school matters. Our Year 8 pupils take on leadership roles including Heads of School, Pack Leaders, and prefects, fostering confidence and responsibility.

Older pupils help guide and support younger children, creating a caring atmosphere where kindness and respect flourish. This leadership experience helps build independence and a strong sense of community.

Our school is proud to hold the Anti-Bullying Alliance Gold Award, reflecting our firm commitment to preventing bullying and promoting the wellbeing of every child.

Throughout the school day, our dedicated matron is on hand to provide first aid and care, ensuring pupils feel safe and supported.

Safeguarding is paramount at Winterfold. For more details on how we protect and nurture our pupils, please view our Safeguarding Policy via the School Policies link.
