Chamber Choir rehearsals have begun in ernest, with much to look forward to, including whole School Masses, Carol Services at School, Hartlebury and St Cassian’s and the amazing trip to Athens, where they will perform two concerts. Next year, the choir is also entering a National competition. Using the new Radio Room, Vocal Teacher Mrs Richardson has recorded audio files to assist the children with the learning of their singing parts. The children are learning songs ranging from Count on Me by Bruno Mars, Touch the Sky, from Brave, You Raise Me Up, from Westlife and Never Enough from The Greatest Showman, to name but a few. The wonderful Girls’ Harmony Choir are rehearsing Mary, Did you Know by Pentatonix and The Prayer from Sager and Foster.

Year 8 Camp Out
On Friday 13th September, Year 8 had their annual camp out in the beautiful grounds at Winterfold. After setting up camp, they then ventured down to the woods to play a game of predator in the dark. A return to base camp saw the group toasting marshmallows over the campfire. It was great to see them all get along so well and play games together. Their behaviour was fantastic and thanks to Mrs Miles, Mrs Humfress, Mr Brinkley, Mr Dieppe and Mr McCracken for giving up their time to make it such a fun night.
Meet our new Heads of School, Louis and Lily.
Congratulations to Lily W and Louis M, our new Head Girl and Head Boy. Very well done also to Deputy Head Girl Emily J and Deputy Head Boy Harvey P, our new Pack Leaders and Prefects.
Ncemaneni News
Following a generous donation from the Winterfold community, via many fundraising initiatives, Ncemaneni Primary School has begun work on a new media centre, library and offices. Workmen are busy with the repair work needed to provide these facilities in an old abandoned building on the school’s property. Our pupils gain a great deal from their efforts fundraising for Ncemaneni, with the next event, The Chiltern Challenge on Sunday 22nd September.
Year 7 hone their woodworking skills
Year 7 have made a start on their birdboxes by learning how to use a mitre saw, hand held saw, then a coping saw with coarse sandpaper to shape the wood. We look forward to seeing the finished product.

Come and join us for a great day of walking to raise money for our sister school, Ncemaneni Primary in South Africa.
Fun First Week for Kindergarten 1
Children in Kindergarten 1 have had a lovely first week. They have been doing lots of ‘getting to know you’ activities and finding out about their environment. The class topic is My Body. The children have created portraits and are currently putting the final touches to their ‘Ambulance’ role-play area by painting green stripes which will be added next week. The children have also enjoyed learning number action rhymes, playing with the jigsaws, toys, and love storytime.
