Prep Prize Giving Marks a Celebratory End to the School Year

On Saturday morning, Prep pupils, staff, and families gathered in the Arbuthnott Hall for Winterfold’s annual Prize Giving ceremony — a joyful and reflective celebration of the year’s achievements.

The event began with a warm welcome from Mr Punt, Headmaster of Bromsgrove School, who congratulated the pupils on their successes and spoke about the values that underpin a meaningful education. Winterfold’s Headmistress, Mrs Toms, then took to the stage to deliver a heartfelt and concise summary of the year, reflecting on the many highlights across academic, pastoral, and co-curricular life.

The presentation of awards followed, beginning with class certificates and Form Prizes, recognising the efforts and accomplishments of pupils across all year groups. Academic Awards were presented to Liberty L, Charlotte M, Ethan B, Ethan E, Harrison G, Zachary M, Emily C, Isaac W, Gabriella W, and Cameron M — a testament to their commitment and excellence in learning.

Effort Prizes went to Myla D, Elliott L, Darcy H, James B, William H, Dominic G, Joseph W, Marnie S, and Florence BA, celebrating those who consistently demonstrated determination and perseverance.

Pastoral Prizes were awarded to pupils who exemplified kindness, empathy, and support for others. This year’s recipients were Stanley M, Krish C, George A, Georgie M, Immy J, Maria M, Thea S, Marnie S, Daisie H, and Poppy C.

Special Awards were reserved for the departing Year 8 pupils, marking the end of their Winterfold journey and recognising their contributions to the school community.

The ceremony concluded with closing remarks from Chair of Governors, Mr Michael Luckman, who reflected on the importance of celebrating both character and achievement.

It was a poignant and proud occasion for all — a true celebration of the Winterfold spirit.
