Prep pupils learn about Guide Dogs for the Blind

The Prep School were lucky enough to have a very special four legged visitor during Whole School PSHE this week.

Following on from Miss Humphrey’s assembly centred on Louis Braille and National Braille Day, Karen, a retired guide dog, along with Ian Court from the Guide Dogs charity, came to speak to us to raise awareness of the difficulties that blind and visually impaired people face in everyday life.

We learnt just how guide dogs like Karen offer these people invaluable support and companionship in a situation that nobody would ever wish to find themselves. The children thoroughly enjoyed listening to Ian and asked many excellent questions. They eagerly gave Karen lots of well-deserved fuss! A big thank you to Ian and Karen for coming to visit.
