Children in Kindergarten 2 have been learning about Diwali and have made Diva lamps out of clay to mark the occasion.
Diwali marks the victory of light over darkness, right over wrong, good over evil and knowledge over ignorance. The exact events behind Diwali vary, depending on the region and the religion. For some, it celebrates the story of King Rama’s return from exile after he defeated Ravana and his evil army. As Rama returned to the city of Ayodhya, people lit the path home by lighting rows of clay lamps.
