Discover History Viking Day

Year 3 have enjoyed going back in time and learning about the Vikings with Paul from Discover History.
They started by learning about everyday life in Viking times and took part in a role-play of traders from Norway, Denmark and Sweden sailing across the North Sea to sell goods to Britain, before then turning to invading and raiding.
The children looked at weapons and armour and had lots of fun re-enacting the Battle of Stamford Bridge. In the afternoon, they studied Viking burials, crime and punishment, and investigated an interesting ‘Rot or not?’ activity.
