Cross Country

On 11th October, sixteen children took part in the annual Cross Country event organised by Abberley Hall School.

Despite the forecast, the weather held and running conditions were perfect. Our top placed finisher was Frazer S who finished in an excellent 6^th place in the U11 boys’ race. He was closely followed by Thomas A (7^th), Isaac BG (13^th), and Toby R (29^th). These fantastic results enabled the boys’ team to finish in 3^rd place overall, only 6 points behind the winners. It is also worth noting that three of our team were Year 5 boys, which holds us in good stead for next year.

In the U11 girls’ race, our top placed girl was Poppy J who was 19^th and she was joined by Kasey N (29^th), Maiyla DN (40^th) and Anna C (50^th). In the U13 boys’ race, our first runner home was William W (17^th), followed by Lewis T (28^th), Finlay HG (32^nd) and William F (34^th). Our lead runner home in the U13 girls’ race was Lily W (19^th), followed by Sophielouise E (23^rd), Isla C (31^st) and Gabby B (36^th).

Once again, Winterfold pupils showed guts and determination throughout the afternoon, with some excellent running and impressive sprints towards the finish line. A special thank you to Isla for stepping in at the last minute.
