Champions of Warwickshire Schools’ Orienteering Competition

We were delighted to once again be invited guests at the Warwickshire Schools’ Orienteering Championships, which this year were held at the beautiful Ryton Pools Country Park. Our team of twenty-one runners competed on both White and Yellow courses against runners from twelve other schools and youth groups.

Using maps and compasses, they needed to find the controls and the finish in as fast a time as possible. Our team did extremely well, with six individuals or pairs achieving medals in four different age classes. Added to that, all of our runners completed the course, achieving points towards our team total.

We are delighted to announce that we were crowned champions for the second year in a row.  Mr Cotterill would like to give a special mention to Leo, this year’s team captain.  The team is now looking forward to the West Midlands Championships and as ever, they welcome anyone who is interested in taking part.
