Our pupils have had a lovely week seeing their friends and teachers and getting back to work and play. They’re now awaiting collection in their year group bubbles. It’s great to be back.

Congratulations to our Kindergarten 2 Stars of the Week.  The Playground Certificate is for being a kind friend and Star Pupil of the Week for settling well, having a wonderful week and being a KG2 Superstar.

At Winterfold, we love having the opportunity to get outside and continue our learning. The children in Year 1 have spent time getting to know each other and have enjoyed listening to stories outside in the sunshine.

This week, Year 2 have been observing changes in our outdoor environment as part of the introduction to this term’s Science topic Living things. From their Science stroll, they brought back photos and samples of things they collected that signified the start of autumn, to be observed and identified on a ticklist in class.

Year 7 & 8 have explored the new Forest school area as part of their Outdoor Learning lessons. The children have used their senses to identify different smells and sounds of nature.

Congratulations to Charlie M and Eleanor W, Winterfold’s Head Boy and Head Girl for this academic year. Very well done also to Thomas A and Anna G who are Deputy Head Boy and Deputy Head Girl.

KG 1 children are loving their refurbished classroom. There has been lots of singing (Wind the Bobbin Up and Dingly Dangly Scarecrow are favourites). They’ve enjoyed craft activities, played with the new toys and kitchen area, stopped for collation and lunch and of course, had lots of fun.

Our pupils are loving being back at School with their friends and teachers. The children are taking ‘the new normal’ in their stride. Our classrooms are happy, safe and productive places to be. Well done to everyone on a successful first two days back at Winterfold.

We have exciting news for our Early Years children. Kindergarten 1 has been completely refurbished, with new furnishings, an outside play area for messy play, a home corner and quiet area. We think you’ll agree, it looks rather splendid!
