What a fantastic two days of sport, teamwork and school spirit at our annual Sports Days! 🌟🏃♀️🏃♂️
Friday saw our Pre-Prep pupils take centre stage. Following a wonderful picnic lunch shared with friends and families, the afternoon began with a carousel of activities expertly planned by Miss Whitcombe. Children enjoyed developing a range of athletic skills, including throwing and jumping, before heading to the track for an exciting programme of races. From KG1 to Year 2, pupils gave their all in every event, with the ever-popular pack relay races providing a thrilling finale. It was a truly wonderful afternoon filled with competition, camaraderie and fun.
Saturday was the turn of our Prep pupils. After fuelling up with a picnic lunch, pupils headed to their packs, ready for an afternoon of exciting athletics. The action got underway with the 100m and 80m sprints, with congratulations going to Florence H and George W, who were crowned Senior Sprint Cup winners.
The middle-distance races followed, with senior pupils competing over 800m and inter and junior pupils tackling 600m. Congratulations to George W, who claimed victory in the senior race, while Ted B (Inter) and Ted P (Junior) secured impressive wins in their respective events.
A special mention goes to Ted B (Year 6) and Alex V (Year 4), whose remarkable performances saw them both break year group records in an incredibly competitive inter race. Ted crossed the line in an outstanding 1:53, lowering the existing record by five seconds, while Alex finished just one second behind in 1:54, taking an incredible ten seconds off the previous junior record. An exceptional achievement by both boys—well done!
The afternoon concluded with the always-entertaining pack relay races, bringing another memorable Sports Day to a close.
