Our Early Years setting offers the perfect start to your child’s learning journey.
At Winterfold, our 3 & 4 year old children benefit from a warm, nurturing environment where curiosity is encouraged, and learning is woven seamlessly into play.
Kindergarten pupils divide their time between bright, spacious classrooms and our dedicated outdoor learning centre, Peacock Lodge. This unique setting allows children to explore nature, develop early skills, and build confidence in both structured and child-led activities.
Each class has a dedicated teacher, supported by a close-knit team of Early Years specialists who quickly become familiar faces to the children. Strong relationships and consistent care help our youngest learners feel secure, supported, and ready to thrive.
Foundations in phonics, literacy, and numeracy are gently introduced through playful, hands-on experiences. Our teachers work at the pace of each individual child, responding to their interests and needs with flexibility and care. A rich mix of child-initiated and teacher-guided learning helps foster independence, curiosity, and a love of discovery.
Kindergarten pupils are very much part of the wider Winterfold community. Where possible, they join in with whole school events, celebrations and activities—helping them feel included, confident and proud to belong.
