Digital Learning at Winterfold

Blending innovation with tradition

At Winterfold, we recognise the vital role that technology plays in the modern world—and the importance of preparing our pupils to navigate it with confidence, curiosity and creativity.

Digital learning is seamlessly woven into everyday life at Winterfold, enriching lessons and complementing more traditional methods of teaching and learning. Our approach ensures that pupils develop essential digital skills from an early age, while still enjoying the hands-on, active experiences that childhood should offer.

Digital Learning

A Curriculum-Integrated Approach

Beyond technical ability, we also focus on helping children become responsible digital citizens. Pupils learn about online safety, digital etiquette and the appropriate use of technology—developing a healthy, informed relationship with the digital world.

Technology at Winterfold is not about screen time for screen time’s sake; it’s about enhancing the learning journey, broadening horizons, and equipping our pupils with the tools and understanding they’ll need to thrive in an ever-changing world.

Digital learning at Winterfold is just one part of the well-rounded education we offer—thoughtfully integrated to support, inspire and prepare our pupils for the future.

Learning for Life

From the early years through to Year 8, children are introduced to digital tools in an age-appropriate and purposeful way. As pupils move through the school, they benefit from:

  • Dedicated ICT lessons for Prep pupils in our fully equipped technology suite
  • Use of iPads across the school, provided by Winterfold—no need for parents to purchase devices
  • Access to a variety of educational software, apps and platforms to enhance learning and support creativity

Digital resources are used to reinforce core skills such as literacy and numeracy, enable independent research, and offer opportunities for collaboration, problem-solving, and project-based learning.
