The Green Fingers initiative ended the school term with a highly successful two-day plant sale, showcasing produce lovingly grown and nurtured by pupils in the school polytunnel.
Throughout Thursday, the school’s youngest gardeners took great pride in bringing a wide range of plants out of the polytunnel and preparing them for sale. Their enthusiasm and care reflected the dedication they have shown throughout the growing season.
Older pupils acted as excellent role models, guiding and supporting the younger children while demonstrating responsibility and teamwork. As the sale opened, all children involved in selling displayed impressive communication and sales skills, confidently engaging with customers and explaining the plants they had helped to grow.
By Friday morning, every plant had been sold, marking a record-breaking achievement for the Green Fingers project and bringing the sale to an early close due to overwhelming demand.
The success of the sale highlights the hard work and commitment of all pupils involved. Most of the profits raised will be reinvested into the Green Fingers project to support future planting and learning opportunities, with a portion also being donated to local charitable causes.
