Winterfold Pupils Perform at Local Church

Young musicians from Winterfold School delighted residents of Hartlebury on Saturday 14th March with a charming live performance at the village church’s popular monthly Coffee and Cake morning.

The regular event, which invites members of the local community to gather for refreshments, conversation and a welcoming atmosphere, was given an extra lift by the pupils’ musical talents. Their performance created a lively focal point for visitors, adding warmth and enjoyment to the morning.

The audience was treated to an impressive programme of solo performances, featuring cello, voice, flute and violin. Each performer had recently achieved success in the school’s music competition, and their confidence and skill were evident throughout. The high standard of musicianship drew warm appreciation from those in attendance, many of whom stayed to listen and support the young players.

At the end of the performance, Father Tim, the parish vicar, spoke to the pupils, offering words of encouragement and expressing his gratitude for their contribution to the event. His thanks reflected the positive impact the children’s music had on the morning and the wider community.

The visit is part of an ongoing relationship between Winterfold School and the local area. Pupils regularly take their music beyond the classroom, performing at a variety of venues and events. Earlier this year, Winterfold musicians have appeared at The Talbot pub in Chaddesley, Bewdley Museum, the River Rooms in Stourbridge, and the Upton Jazz Festival.

The school looks forward to returning to Hartlebury church for future Coffee and Cake mornings, continuing to strengthen its connection with the community while providing valuable performance opportunities for its young musicians.
