Yr 6 History Trip to Tamworth Castle

Year 6 pupils from Winterfold House School were treated to a grand historical day out at Tamworth Castle on Monday 27th February.

The children enjoyed two fantastic interactive sessions in which they found out about life in the castle in the 1200s and what it was like to fight in medieval battles.  There was lots of dressing up and handling of artefacts which helped to bring the history of the period to life.

In the afternoon, pupils were allowed to roam the castle through the many ages represented in the rooms and displays.  Some of our children were also invited to act as guinea-pigs for a new interactive ICT game that will form the centrepiece of a future gallery exploring Saxon Britain.
