Worcester Competitive Arts Festival

Winterfold had its most successful day at the Worcester Competitive Arts Festival this week. This Festival has been running for approximately 30 years and is a wonderful showcase of the best talent in the County and beyond. WInterfold entered a large contingent into the competition and seemed to fill many of the classes, which shows how strong music must be at Winterfold.

We had a long string of wins. Larry R won Under 10 Brass and George D won Under 14 Wind. Winterfold won  first, second and third place in the Musical Theatre class, with Bessy H taking the trophy. Eleanor W won the String class and Isla C, the Under 14 Singing class.

Sadly, the choirs were unable to compete, due to the understandable cancellation and won’t be performing in the concert at Huntington Hall.

Music at Winterfold this term has been one of the most successful and ambitious on record. Sadly, it now has to be put on hold. it is a very tough time now for musicians all over the world. Let us hope we can return next year and repeat the successes and sheer pleasure that the children have brought us with their music.
