Worcester Competitive Arts Festival

Head of Music, Jerry Price has described the day:

‘On Saturday 12th Pupils and ensembles from Winterfold took part in the Worcester Competitive Arts Festival held at RGS Worcester. This is a festival which showcases and competes musical and drama acts from the whole county. It has not been able to run for the last two years so it was great to be back there again, and to perform in the RGS theatre.

This is a tough competition with high standards of judging and expectations. We did very well and came away with an array of awards, especially considering we were really down on forces on the day.

In the singing and musical theatre classes Alisha C , Georgia L and Maiyla D-N all won their classes for their age group. Lucas C won the intermediate jazz class and Frances G the strings class. The Chamber choir performed against 4 other choirs to a really packed house which was great to see and came first. We also got a mix of second and third places. At the end of the day the children performed their socks off and any experience is always a good one. A brilliant morning for all who were there.’
