Winterfold School hosts U8 Hockey Festival

Winterfold School’s Year 3 girls enjoyed their first ever taste of Hockey in the form of an U8 Hockey festival held on Tuesday 3rd October.

The Festival was a great success, with RGS The Grange, RGS Springfield and King’s St Albans participating in three rounds of ten minute matches.

The emphasis was on learning the game and experiencing match conditions . Winterfold had 11 girls and there were many substitutions to allow everyone to have a fair experience in the 7 a- side games.

Winterfold U8 girls played very well, learning about game skills and teamwork.  All of the teams enjoyed themselves, especially the match tea afterwards; the teams were encouraged to mingle and to get to know one another.

There was great support from parents and staff and a very enjoyable afternoon was had by all.
