Winterfold Hosts Heartwarming Macmillan Coffee Morning

Last Friday, the Penryn Foyer was transformed into a hub of warmth, generosity, and community spirit as Winterfold School hosted a special Macmillan Coffee Morning.
Organised with care by the Friends of Winterfold, the event saw the foyer decked out in Macmillan’s signature green and purple, thanks to a team of dedicated volunteers. The atmosphere was made even sweeter by the incredible spread of homemade cakes and sweet treats, all generously donated by the Winterfold community.
Pupils eagerly popped in throughout the morning, delighted to choose a cake in exchange for a small donation. Laughter and chatter filled the room as parents, staff, and friends of the school joined in for a slice of cake and a cup of coffee.
Adding to the excitement was a well-supported raffle, also run by the Friends of Winterfold. Prizes ranged from luxurious items such as a Liberty Advent Calendar to popular gift vouchers, encouraging further generosity from all who attended.
This year, the school chose to dedicate the event to members of the Winterfold Family who have experienced loss. Over the past academic year, many in the community have felt the deep pain of losing a friend, family member, or loved one to cancer and other illnesses.
In a statement shared on the day, the school reflected:
“May our collective strength and unity help support one another as we come together, and by supporting Macmillan, we can continue to help others in their time of need.”
The morning was a moving reminder of the power of community and compassion — and a fitting tribute to the strength that binds Winterfold together.
