The Blessing of Our Pets

On Thursday 3rd October, the Secret Garden turned into a veritable menagerie where dogs, cats, rabbits, and tortoises were blessed by Father Lamb in a service in remembrance of St Francis whose love for God’s creations has been passed on to all of us.

Reminiscent slightly of a scene from the Vicar of Dibley, the animals were very well behaved, as the children and parents joined together to sing All Things Bright and Beautiful and listened to the prayers led by Father Lamb.

Dear God,

We thank you for the precious gift of our pets. They bless our households with so much joy and they are truly loved. Please protect them and grant them your blessings today and always.
