Strings Day

A group of senior string players travelled to Dean Close school for their annual strings day this week. This event is run by the world class Carducci String Quartet who are resident at the school.

The day was split into workshops and rehearsals, culminating in a fantastic concert in their amazing school theatre. The beginners group played ‘Lollipop’ , the middle group played a version of Chim Chim Cher-ee from Mary Poppins and the seniors tackled the fantastic ‘base dance’ from the Capriol Suite. All players then came together for a rendition of ‘Ragtime’, featuring over one hundred players on stage.

It was a hugely inspiring day and a good bench mark of where everyone is in their musical development. Well done to all.
