Senior Music Competition

Our talented musicians took part in the annual Senior Music Competition after school on Tuesday 6th March.   The performances by brass, wind, woodwind, strings, piano, drums and voice were superb.

Dr Philip Aldred, Chief Examiner of the London College of Music was the adjudicator who shared his wisdom and delightful anecdotes throughout the evening.

The musicians’ performances were accomplished and confident.  If there were nerves, they weren’t apparent.  There were many outstanding performances; Olivia L sang a very moving Slipping through my fingers from Mamma Mia in addition to an excellent performance of Schubert’s Ave Maria on clarinet, Rosie B played the first movement of Vivaldi’s Violin Concerto in A Minor superbly, without music.

Well done to everyone who took part and particular congratulations to Olivia L who was the overall winner this year.  The future of music looks bright at Winterfold.
