Pop and Jazz night at Bromsgrove

On Thursday 22nd March, the Groove Diggers performed at the annual Pop and Jazz evening at Bromsgrove School.

The Groove Diggers played a solo set with two of their ‘grooviest’ songs. They performed really well, helped by wonderful acoustics, sound system and light in Routh Hall. The band also joined the Senior School for a wonderful final rendition of ‘We are Family’.

It was also great to see loads of ex Groove Diggers and singers taking a lead in the whole night. Half the vocal soloists were ex Winterfold pupils, which shows how strong the seed is that we sow.  Leading many of the sections there were also ex pupils who were all doing brilliantly. A fabulous night was had by all and a wonderful way to finish the term.

A group of musicians from Groove Diggers have been invited to play in the finals of the National Concert Band Festival, which is being held at the Royal Nothern College of Music. They will be joining the Bromsgrove Big Band to play on the day.

We look forward to seeing photos and clips from the event.
