Kidderminster PCSOs visit Winterfold

PCSO Becky Ruston and Kate Easthope visited Winterfold on Tuesday 26th November to talk to pupils from Pre-Prep and Prep school about the Police, to remove the fear factor around Police cars and to re-assure the children that they are here to help.

Both sets of pupils had lots of questions, ranging from “How old do you have to be before you can be arrested”, “how long have you worked for the police”, to “do you work with Santa Claus”.

The children enjoyed finding out about life in the Police, from their roles working with the community, to dog handlers and the types of dog breed they use. They were reminded that in School life, it is important to remember that words are often more powerful than a weapon.

Both Becky and Kate are part of a policing team and said “if we talk to children at a young enough age, they won’t be afraid of us.”
