Festive Season kicks off with a Magical Day of Celebrations

Winterfold School began the festive season in sparkling style on Saturday, as families, pupils and staff came together for two much-loved annual events: Breakfast with Santa and the enchanting Hollyberry Fayre. Organised by the dedicated Friends of Winterfold (FOW), the day offered a perfect blend of excitement, tradition and Christmas cheer.
The morning began with the eagerly anticipated Breakfast with Santa, where the school’s youngest pupils were treated to a delicious seasonal breakfast before diving into a host of festive activities. Children decorated their own gingerbread men, adding colourful icing and sprinkles to create edible works of art. The highlight of the morning, of course, was a special visit from Santa Claus himself. Each child had the chance to share their Christmas wishes, enjoy some magical moments, and receive a gift to take home — a memory they will treasure throughout the season.
As the morning’s excitement came to a close, the school grounds were transformed into a winter wonderland for the annual Hollyberry Fayre. Families browsed a charming array of craft stalls offering handmade gifts and seasonal treats, while a lively tombola kept visitors of all ages entertained. Delicious food stalls provided warming refreshments, adding to the festive atmosphere.
A particularly special moment came as the school choirs gathered beside the Main House to perform a selection of traditional Christmas carols, accompanied beautifully by Mr Price. Their performances added a heartwarming soundtrack to the afternoon, drawing visitors together in a shared celebration of the season.
The day was hailed as a wonderful success and a joyful start to Winterfold’s Christmas celebrations. The school extended its thanks to the Friends of Winterfold, staff, families and all who contributed to creating such a magical, community-led event.
