Winterfold School hosts Headmaster of Ncemaneni Primary, S.Africa

Winterfold School will be holding a welcome evening for Armstrong Mthembua, the Headmaster of its sister school, Ncemaneni, in South Africa, to celebrate its partnership with the School.
This is a great opportunity to meet Armstrong, hear about our partnership and enjoy an evening of cheese and wine.  Guests will also be treated to a question and answer session and a small auction.
Winterfold has been travelling on tour to South Africa for 15 years and in that time, has raised over £65,000 to support the development of Ncemaneni Primary School.  The relationship between our two schools has touched the lives of many children, not just through the donations of clothing and equipment; medical supplies and sports equipment but also through the more permanent building of a new classroom block in 2013 and the opening of a new Science laboratory during this year’s tour.
With the support of parents and staff, the tours to South Africa are very much about affecting lives of everyone in a positive way.  From the staff and children at Ncemaneni who have benefitted from the money Winterfold has raised, to everyone at Winterfold who has been touched by the hospitality and kindness of the Ncemaneni School family on each and every visit.
South Africa is truly an amazing country.  It has a richly diverse and interesting history and culture which makes it a superb destination for the Winterfold tour.  Winterfold Old boys and girls often comment that their tour to South Africa was the most memorable and influential experience of their School years.  A sports tour that packs in many wonderful experiences such as Table Mountain, a township tour, Robben Island in Cape Town, the excitement of surfing, watching Super Rugby in Durban, the wonder of seeing ‘the Big Five’ at Hluhluwe Game Reserve, a Zulu cultural show and spending time with the inspirational children of Ncemaneni Primary provides the children, parents and teachers of Winterfold with memories that will remain with them for the rest of their lives.
We now look forward to the next project and we very much hope that you can join us on the 17th October at Penryn Hall from 6.00pm – 9.00pm.
