A Sparkling Evening at the Winterfold Fireworks Display

The school community came together on Friday evening for our annual Fireworks Display, and what a spectacular night it was! Organised by the Friends of Winterfold, the event simply wouldn’t have been possible without the amazing team of volunteers made up of parents and staff members. Their hard work and enthusiasm helped to create a truly memorable evening for everyone.

Pupils and their families enjoyed the mild weather — the rain stayed away, much to everyone’s delight — and the atmosphere on the school field was full of excitement. The delicious food offerings were a real hit, with hot dogs, sweets, crisps, cold drinks, hot drinks, and traditional toffee apples all on sale. A selection of flashing toys added extra sparkle to the evening as children eagerly waved them through the crowd.

It was wonderful to welcome the Page Boarders from Bromsgrove School, who joined in the fun, and to see some of our Old Winterfoldians returning to Winterfold. It was lovely to hear how they are all getting on and to share in their fond memories of their time here.

As darkness fell, the much-anticipated display began — an epic fireworks show set to music that lit up the night sky with dazzling colour and sound. Gasps and cheers filled the air as each burst of light danced above the school grounds, marking a perfect finale to a fantastic evening.

Beyond the lights and excitement, the event was a true celebration of community — families enjoying time together, children’s laughter echoing across the field, and friendships old and new being rekindled.

A huge thank you once again to the Friends of Winterfold and all our wonderful volunteers for making this magical evening possible. We’re already looking forward to next year’s display!
