Year 2 at the Black Country Living Museum

Year 2 had a great time on Tuesday 18th September at the Black Country Living Museum, one of the largest open-air museums in the UK.

The children explored the original period shops and houses and experienced a little of what it was like to live and work in one of the world’s most heavily industrialised landscapes.

Picture 1 – ‘Hooks and Hangers’ inspired the children to write the alphabet in the script of a Victorian child.

Picture 2 – Following a visit to the Workers’ Institute and hearing about the reforms of Mary Macarthur, the children were set to work at the foundry making chains.

Picture 3 – The children were transported back in time on a 101 year old tram. The highlight of the trip for our eldest member of Year 2 was ringing the bell for the driver.
