Pupils delivered an impressive display of determination and teamwork at the Hallfield Cross Country event, rounding off a fantastic afternoon of competitive running.
Competing on a relatively flat and fast course, runners were nevertheless challenged to maintain pace and stamina throughout. Each participant rose to the occasion, representing the school with enthusiasm, resilience and excellent sportsmanship.
The team results reflected a strong collective effort across multiple age groups. The Under-9 boys secured an outstanding second-place finish, with a team comprising Alex V, Ted P, Thomas W, Freddie F, Ollie DB and Arlo C. The Under-9 girls claimed third place thanks to the efforts of Alyssa T, Sibylla S, Isla B, Issa D, Helena B and Freya M. The success continued with the Under-11 boys, who also achieved a well-earned third place, represented by Ted B, George MR, George JE, Ted V and Will L. The Under-11 girls team, featuring Darcey M, Anastasia C, Florence N, Jemima C and Darcy H, also performed strongly and contributed to an excellent overall showing for the school.
One of the standout moments of the day came from Alex V in Year 4, who delivered a remarkable individual performance to win the Under-9 race. Showing exceptional pace and composure, Alex’s achievement was a highlight of the competition and a testament to his hard work and commitment.
Beyond the podium finishes, the event was a celebration of participation, perseverance and team spirit. Every runner gave their best effort, supporting one another and contributing to a positive and encouraging atmosphere throughout the afternoon.
Staff praised the pupils not only for their results but also for their attitude and determination on the course. The Hallfield Cross Country proved to be a memorable occasion for all involved, with strong performances, individual success and a clear sense of pride in representing the school.
