Welcome to Winterfold House School. Our school is a wonderful and stimulating place in which to spend your childhood and your formative years of learning. Set in over 40 acres of beautiful grounds with views to the Malvern Hills, the School is proud to offer excellent facilities which meet the needs of a broad and balanced curriculum. Central to the school’s day to day practice is our ethos of educating the whole child. Importance is placed on the teaching and learning of each individual and on their happiness which runs through all aspects of school life. We pride ourselves on nurturing children to become confident and independent individuals who are well rounded and ready to face the challenges of senior school and the wider world.
We value the role of the family and work alongside parents to ensure their child achieves their full potential. We operate an ‘open door’ policy to our learning, and aspire to ensure that communication between home and school is at its optimum. There are regular written reports and parents’ evenings so that you are kept fully informed of your child’s progress, and staff are always on hand to talk to.
As a Catholic school, we believe that the moral and spiritual development of our children is of great importance. We welcome children of all faiths and have an atmosphere which respects the views and beliefs of others. We look to develop and prepare our children for living in a multi-cultural and multi-faith society. We seek to instil values in which the individual is cherished, yet we also support and encourage a strong sense of the importance of community. We promote personal development embedded within a sense of right and wrong.
At Winterfold, pastoral care is one of our strengths and we go to great lengths to ensure the happiness of every single child. The children’s behaviour is exemplary and promoted through positive reinforcement and encouragement, and the school community fosters a deep respect and genuine consideration for others – not just within the school but within the work we do at local, national and international levels. At Winterfold, we have created a rich and stimulating curriculum in which our pupils attain excellent standards, with many receiving scholarships to some of the top independent senior schools in England – such as Bromsgrove, Cheltenham, Malvern and Shrewsbury.
In addition, our academic curriculum is enriched by an exciting programme of extra-curricular activities and residential trips both at home and abroad. Our high level sport, music & art facilities provide a great opportunity for the children to develop themselves beyond the classroom. Our pupils demonstrate excellent attitudes to their own learning, showing enjoyment, concentration and persistence in all that they engage with.
