Form Tutors
Your child’s Form Tutor plays an important role in your child’s education and will be your first point of contact for all aspects of school life. He or she will have daily contact with your child and come to know them really well, constantly monitoring their welfare and academic progress. They will keep you fully informed of any problems which may arise and ensure that your child’s time at Winterfold is a happy one.
Prefects and Monitors
All senior boys and girls are given some degree of responsibility for younger pupils and are afforded a wide measure of trust. As children at the top of the school they are expected to serve as role models to those younger than themselves and to play an important part in the day to day running of the school. We believe that such responsibility fosters confidence and independence and is a vital part of a good education.
Medical Care
Throughout the school day there is a matron on duty who is fully trained in all first-aid procedures. She will normally deal with any minor ailments and cuts and bruises, and administer medication but will contact parents if children need to be taken home. We are also visited by NHS staff who carry out regular hearing and eye sight tests.
Pre and After School Care
For working parents we offer pre and after school care from 8.00am until the start of school at 8.40am and until 6.00pm after the end of the school day. Children are looked after by qualified, experienced staff and are supervised at all times. There are also various activity clubs which operate in the evenings.
