Royal Visit
The visit of HRH The Earl of Wessex on Thursday 1st December was a real highlight in the Winterfold calendar! His arrival caused great excitement as the helicopter flew down past the waiting children before landing on the playing fields. He then drove down the school drive which was lined by cheering, flag-waving children! The Earl toured the school and chatted to children, staff and visitors. He then heard two short pieces performed by the Choir and Orchestra before officially opening the new Performing Arts Centre. A great day in the school’s history!

Four pupils win six Music Scholarhips to Senior Schools!
Four Winterfold pupils have won six Music scholarships to top senior schools across the region. Henry Thomas (12) has gained Music Scholarships to Shrewsbury School and Cheltenham College, Henry Newbould (13) has gained Music Scholarships to Shrewsbury School and RGS Worcester and Brittany Collie (12) and Olivia Wormald (13) have both gained Music Scholarships to Bromsgrove School. All four pupils are Grade 5 or above in several instruments and all play in Winterfolds Jazz Band, The Groove Diggers.

Auction of Promises Raises £9000!
The Auction of Promises held on Friday 11th February raised a fantastic £9000 for Ncemaneni Primary School in Kwa Zulu Natal! The Auction was a huge success and was a result of much hard work from parents, teachers and children at Winterfold. We are very grateful to all of them, and to those in the local community who donated items to auction. This is just one event planned to help raise money for the Ncemaneni children whom we will be visiting on our next South Africa Sports Tour in March 2011.
