Music Tour to Prague

In October Winterfold's Choir and Jazz Band visited Prague on a five day music tour.

The city proved to be the most fantastic venue for musicians. The concerts were all packed out, and with this level of support, the children upped their performances to new levels. The 'Groove Diggers' played superbly and the choir sang magnificently, supported by a small and skilled band of parent singers. The pupils performed four concerts: two in schools, one in a large church and one in an old Bohemian theatre. They were made hugely welcome at all their events and the mayor of Slany invited them to come back any time to play more! They also saw some wonderful sights, including a walking tour of the old town and a hike up a mountain to a medieval castle which looked like something out of a Dracula set! The children were wonderfully behaved and a credit to the school. Prague 2009 was such a success that a follow up is on the cards in two years time!
